Airpac Bukom Celebrates First Year in New Global Headquarters

Tuesday 17 May 2016

Airpac Bukom recently celebrated the first year in their new Global Headquarters. The relocation occurred in March 2015 and saw all Aberdeen employees and equipment move from Mugiemoss Road in Aberdeen to the Midmill Industrial Estate in Kintore. The new base is under eight miles from Aberdeen International Airport and just a short distance from the previous base in Bucksburn.
The purpose built base features 13,000m2 open workshop space and is more than double the size of the previous premises. The inclusion of an interior crane within the workshop has reduced the use of forklift movement, helping to improve safety for both employees and visitors to the premises. A designated training room gives Airpac Bukom the scope to carry out bespoke in-house training on the operation and maintenance of their equipment, both for their employees and customers.

Happy First Birthday!

The site layout brings improved access for HGVs with a one way system allowing for quick, safe deliveries and collections from the yard. A barrier system is operated from within the stores department and means that safety can be continually monitored. The yard also features a designated bay for function testing all equipment before hire, as well as a contained wash area which eliminates the risk of contaminants getting in to the water supply.

The new building also boasts two floors of modern office space with a state of the art board room and additional meeting rooms. Energy usage is managed by utilising motion sensor lighting, LED lights, the latest technology in air conditioning units and recyclable water for the wash bay. Disabled access has been incorporated throughout the building, with wider doors, access ramps, designated parking and a lift between floors.

Haydn Davies, Managing Director, says:

“The new building has been embraced by everyone at Airpac Bukom. The new site gives us the scope to further expand and improve our operations and shows our continued commitment to the global oil and gas industry.”

All Aberdeen based employees are now under one roof, which has enhanced communication and created a more unified working environment. The staff at celebrated the anniversary by bringing in a selection of snacks, drinks and home bakes, meeting to enjoy lunch together in their communal break-out area.
