Within the first few days at Vp plc, it becomes apparent to all new starters that the business prides itself on themes such as teamwork, warmth, honesty and continued investment and empowerment of its employees.
I started Vp as part of the Group Internal Audit team in early 2017. Since then, I have undertaken a number of projects that have all been the right mix of challenging, engaging and meaningful – covering everything from individual branches to business-wide initiatives, such as mergers and acquisitions. These projects have also seen me travel throughout the UK, as well as to places like the Netherlands and even further afield such as Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Australia and New Zealand.
The organisation has supported me in undertaking a chartered accountancy qualification, whilst also providing frequent development workshops and 1-2-1 coaching. There are countless more examples where Vp has provided ongoing support and opportunity to its employees.
Although Vp maintains traditional values at its core (celebrating 60 years in 2014), the group also retains an openness to new ideas and fresh perspectives. Vp has developed a culture whereby talented, highly-motivated people all provide support and guidance to each other - with no-one being unapproachable, regardless of divisional, departmental or hierarchical boundaries.
